Why We Run

As organisers for running events all over New Zealand, we have lots of opportunities to talk to people about why they run. We’ve learned that most of run to decompress, get some ‘me’ time, recharge their batteries, and just generally chill out. Which isn’t how non-runners think of running, is it?

We want to help reframe ideas around running and physical fitness. It’s not about looking a certain way or spending money on gear. It’s about how you feel when you’re done, and the positive impact that has on your life, and the lives of those around you.

Starting the conversation

In partnership with LMA we’re wanting to help build a national conversation around mental health. Sometimes all it takes to help someone improve their mental health is a short chat with a friend or family member.

Helping drive a national conversation about mental health will in turn help all of us have those all-important small conversations with our loved ones.
